Paul & Theresa - Favorite Duos, Vol. I
Theresa Thomason’ singing is rooted in gospel and stretches way beyond to include jazz and pop. She is the singer on Paul’s Break Away CD. This new album features Paul and Theresa doing songs by Stevie Wonder, Aretha, and even Joni Mitchell. When Theresa is singing she has such control and such an extraordinary ear that she can do absolutely anything—from powerful, driving soul to the most delicate turns and ornaments. She is a truly formidable singer at the peak of her powers, and Paul and Theresa together form a perfect pair.

Break Away
This is romping, rollicking music
that swings like crazy. If you like jazz, we guarantee that
you will be delighted. All the songs are original compositions,
so even though they are jazz songs, they still have Paul's
familiar “voice” running through them. Paul even
wrote four vocal songs for the CD—both music and lyrics—featuring
singer Theresa Thomason. This CD also stars bass player Eliot
Wadopian (a two time Grammy Award winner), sax and flute player
Paul Lieberman (one of Paul's closest friends for almost 30
years), two swinging percussion players and good friends,
Bill Friederich and Seth Kearns, who provide the elegant “motor”
that drives the band. The ensemble is known as “PS Jazz,”
and they bring life and beauty to the music with every phrase
they play.

styles. In addition, there are three new original songs included
. This is one of Paul’s most tuneful and personal recordings.
As the back cover says, “Where do Ray Charles, Frederic
Chopin, and Irish buskers all play together? In Paul Sullivan’s
Irish Soul!”

Folk
Art
One of Paul's personal favorites, and the most popular with
radio stations nationwide. Paul draws on some folk traditions
for his inspiration in this album. Breezy Brazilian sambas,
a bluesy improv on an American folk song, and a poignant elegy
to a beloved old Maine farmer make this one of Sullivan's finest
recordings. RM 103
